Our English school is located in the idyllic surroundings of Manly, Sydney’s favourite beach resort, just 20 minutes to Sydney’s Central Business District by public transport. Founded in 1988, the school has established a reputation for high quality and excellence in English language teaching. Learn English in a modern 5 level building, just 2 minutes walk to the bus and ferry terminals and 5 minute walk to beautiful Manly Beach. Shops, cafes, bars, fine dining restaurants and Manly Cinema are all within walking distance. Manly is an ideal area to learn English and enjoy a variety of water sports, either beach or harbour, including surfing, sailing, kayaking, snorkelling and diving.

The school has 21 fully equipped, air-conditioned classrooms, 2 balconies (one is 360 degrees, wrapping around the top floor, with views of the surf and the harbour), Multi-media Study Centre FREE Internet use on school computers and WIFI for Laptop/ notebook use. The school has a great student nationality mix, with 1/3 European, 1/3 Asian and 1/3 Latin American students.

Homestay

Kaplan International Colleges Sydney Manly can arrange homestay with an Australian family, giving students the opportunity to experience Australian customs first hand whilst practising English. We offer our students single room homestay (or shared if coming with a friend), with a private bedroom, shared bathroom, laundry facilities, breakfast and dinner during the weekdays and breakfast, lunch and dinner on the weekends. All of our homestays are located in the Northern Beaches area. The average travel time is 20 minutes by bus, with some of our students also living within walking distance. We have a full-time Homestay Co-ordinator to take care of all your homestay requirements.

Local Information

Transport: Manly is accessible by bus, ferry and car. Students can buy a weekly travel pass which covers bus and ferry services.

Banks and Post Office: Manly has all the main banks and also a post office, within walking distance of the school

Restaurants and Cafes: There are many restaurants, cafes and bakeries that you can enjoy while you learn English in Sydney.

Department Stores and Supermarkets: There are two supermarkets within walking distance of the school (the closest one is 5 minutes away). There are no big department stores in Manly itself but there is a large shopping mall with department stores and more than 400 retail stores (including cinema complex and food outlets ) just 15 minutes by bus from the school

Churches/ Mosque: There is a wide variety of places of worship throughout the Northern Beaches area.

Learn English in Sydney Manly and enjoy a mild, temperate climate with more than 300 sunny days per year. Average maximum temperatures in summer are 25.8C or 78.4F (summer in Australia is December-February). Winter temperatures are cold at night with a minimum of 9C or 47-48F (winter months are June-August).
